Parents,

Here are some general guidelines that we would like to share for your child's academic and life success:
- Homework is usually an assignment that was not finished in class. Students should finish their homework (check their planner). All assignments are written on the board and students are required to write them out in their planner.
- Students should read at least 20 minutes a day, regardless of whether they have any assigned reading.
- Students should read Quran at least 10 minutes a day and record in their reading fluency rubric.
- You should spend time discussing current events or asking your child about their day. In these conversations encourage your child to consider other perspectives or make deeper connections (critical thinking).
- Students should get time to play and spend time with the family (this doesn't mean playing with electronics).
- When students use electronic devices they should be in a common area where the rest of the family can monitor what they're doing. It is highly discouraged that children be allowed to use electronic devices alone in their bedrooms.
Sincerely,
Ms. Diana
